School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships PDF Print E-mail

You may be able to start an Australian School-based Apprenticeship while you are still at school. Australian School-based Apprenticeships enable you to gain a vocational and technical qualification while completing your school studies.

Australian School-based Apprenticeships are a great career option for students in Years 10, 11 and Year 12. They have a number of features:
  • You can finish Years 11 and 12 while you start your apprenticeship or traineeship.
  • You are paid a training wage or apprentice wage for the time you spend 'on-the-job' with your employer.
  • You are covered by a training contract, which links to an industrial award or agreement.
Come and visit the VET Centre (7C13) and discuss with VET Centre staff and they will know if you are able to undertake an Australian Apprenticeship or Traineeship while you are studying and can assist you in choosing the most suitable subjects.

Students and parents are able to make an appointment to discuss Australian School-based Apprenticeships with Mrs Randolph (Head of Department, Senior Schooling) This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   or Mrs van der Beek (VET Coordinator) This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   on telephone 07 3714 2333Vet Staff - Leanne Randolph & Kylie Van Der Beek.
