University and Design, What is it really like?

Year 12 graphics students had the opportunity to listen to and ask questions from a current university student.

Previous FLSHS graphics student Daniel Kerr graduated in 2015 and is currently studying a Bachelor of Design at Griffith University, Queensland College of Arts.
Daniel explained how the skills and knowledge gained from graphics helped him to complete a number of his university assignments. He also discussed the need for students to work hard and be organized with their assignments in order to help them prepare for university. He also spoke about the need for students leaving year 12 to be self-directed learners as this will be expected in university.

Daniel explained that a lot of the focus for his first year of university is on sketching a range of drawings aimed at a specific audience. Daniel’s presentation reinforced that the curriculum we are teaching at FLSHS is extremely current and supports students’ needs at university.
