Forest Lake State High School welcomed USQ media students to complete their radio assessment by hosting a live radio broadcast during lunchtime last week.
Students came in their droves during lunchtime to see the school’s recently awarded national dance champions perform, compete in a dance off and listen to their Deputy Principal and fellow student musicians jam it up with tunes from their saxophone, trombone and trumpet.
Students missed out by just one point in the Teacher/student quiz and musicians, Star and Patrick entertained the crowds with their beautiful rendition of Khalid’s, American Teen.
U12 Queensland rugby league player, David and Sport HOD, Mr Cameron Webb spoke about the values that sport instils in its players both on and off the field and school captains, Rohan and Paris, outlined the schools commitment to supporting school and community events.
Principal, Denise Kostowski said, “This was an exciting opportunity for both students and staff and it demonstrates that Forest Lake SHS is dedicated to supporting others within our community while learning about different career paths.”
“We were happy to support USQ students in their learning while at the same time showcasing our fabulous programs in dance, music, sport and academia to the wider community,” she said.
