Forest
Lake State High School welcomed USQ media students to complete their radio
assessment by hosting a live radio broadcast during lunchtime last week.
Students
came in their droves during lunchtime to see the school’s recently awarded
national dance champions perform, compete in a dance off and listen to their
Deputy Principal and fellow student musicians jam it up with tunes from their
saxophone, trombone and trumpet.
Students
missed out by just one point in the Teacher/student quiz and musicians, Star
and Patrick entertained the crowds with their beautiful rendition of Khalid’s,
American Teen.
U12
Queensland rugby league player, David and Sport HOD, Mr Cameron Webb spoke
about the values that sport instils in its players both on and off the field
and school captains, Rohan and Paris, outlined the schools commitment to
supporting school and community events.
Principal,
Denise Kostowski said, “This was an exciting opportunity for both students and
staff and it demonstrates that Forest Lake SHS is dedicated to supporting
others within our community while learning about different career paths.”
“We
were happy to support USQ students in their learning while at the same time showcasing
our fabulous programs in dance, music, sport and academia to the wider
community,” she said.
