FLAKE Productions is our Forest Lake SHS theatre company. On the years that there is no musicals or interstate or international Arts tours, FLAKE Productions runs auditions to join this Youth Theatre Company and perform in stage productions of plays giving students an authentic theatre industry experience. Sometimes this might involve a multi-schools project like we were involved with called Being Heard which is a piece of theatre performed by multiple schools for a common community outcome or government funding that has been strategically developed for arts projects we encourage our students to be a part of.
Impending Everyone (2020)
“This cannot be stopped; your history is impending. Everyone will know tomorrow, by the end of lunch, who you really are…"
Someone at Elia's high school has gained access to all the students' browser histories, messages and metadata. They plan to release them. What do they want? Nothing more than everybody at the high school finding out who they, and everyone around them, really is. But the students can't let this happen. They have secrets that can't come out, and less than one day to stop their impending release.
Set within a New South Wales high school, Impending Everyone explores what happens when we have to own up to the things we have said, when anonymity is stripped away and our desires are laid bare.
Popping Lead Balloons (2021)
A high-energy comic drama for teens and anyone who has survived adolescence. Join Mel as she takes a walk down the not so sweet memory lane of her high school years. A wickedly funny play, interspersed with scenes depicting school life (and social death), this play explores the nature of contemporary girl culture, with its complicated status games and high tech bullying. Taking Arthur Miller's The Crucible as inspiration, the show examines a modern witch hunt and the consequences of bullying.
Medea (2023)
