Sports

Forest Lake State High School offers numerous sporting experiences and opportunities to students. The school has 6 multi-purpose outdoor courts, 2 large soccer/rugby league fields and an indoor sporting venue. This indoor venue caters for basketball, futsal, volleyball, netball and badminton.
 
The school runs carnivals throughout the year for swimming, cross country and athletics. Students participate in these school based carnivals and the opportunity exists for representative honours - district, regional, state and national.
 
Forest Lake SHS participates in the Yagera District interschool competition. The competition is Tuesday afternoons after school and is played against various schools within our district. The season is split between summer and winter and is available to all students. Below is a list of the sports currently offered:
 
Summer Season
·         Volleyball – Years 8/10/Open               Boys

Winter Season
·         Basketball – Years 10/Open                 Boys/Girls

·         Rugby League – Years 8/10                 Boys
 
In addition to the District Finals Day competitions the school also participates in numerous external sporting events. In 2014 Forest Lake SHS is participating in the state futsal titles, Broncos Gee Cup – Rugby League and various external netball challenges. 
Students at Forest Lake SHS have access to participate in all sporting trials offered within the Metropolitan West sporting region. Dates for district trials are advertised to students via the school’s sports notice board.
