Our community

The population in the Forest Lake suburb is currently 22,000 (source: Delfin Limited December 2006) and is constantly increasing in size and density.

Forest Lake is currently serviced by four (4) schools:

  • Forest Lake State School (a P-6 state school)

  • Grand Avenue State School (a P-6 state school)

  • Forest Lake State High School

  • St Johns Anglican College (a P-12 private college operating on 2 campuses – a P-6 primary campus located adjacent to Forest Lake State School and a year 7-12 secondary campus which shares a fence line and jointly developed facilities with Forest Lake SHS).

The Forest Lake SHS Parents' and Citizens' Association supports all aspects of school operations. The small but dedicated group actively promotes the school and its achievements in the wider community. Sub-committees include tuckshop, promotions and marketing and uniform. Forest Lake SHS is a uniform school.

    The School Council plays a role in monitoring and information the school's strategic direction in a way that achieves the best learning outcomes for the school's students.
