Our united commitment to reconciliation
Gurumba Bigi - Good Day in Jagara, our local traditional language. (also Yuggara, Yagara, Yugarabul, Yuggerabul)
Situated at the front of the school is our reconciliation mural, and in the spirit of the traditional ancestors of this land, we welcome all members of our community.
Our Story

Background
In early 2021 our staff pledged to contribute to achieving reconciliation with our First Nation community. Following a day of workshops, staff determined that a mural placed at the entrance of our school would illustrate to the community, our commitment to reconciliation.
Renowned local Artist, Jenny Kent of Manamana Dreaming worked with our students to create a vision of reconciliation, that incorporates the thumbprints of all students, staff local Elders, partners in education and local community members to symbolise our united commitment.
Community Day
In December 2021 our community came together to place their thumbprint on the mural and included local Elder Uncle Albert, our Bronco's mentors as well as our incoming Year 6 students.

Dedication Ceremony
Dedicated by Annastacia Palaszczuk, Premier, Minister for the Olympics and Member for Inala on 15 July 2022.
The artists' vision of our 12.5 x 1.5 meter mural can be viewed here.
