This week, our First Nation students had the honour of attending the 2026 ATSIAP State Finals Awards Ceremony at the University of Queensland.

The ceremony was a wonderful celebration of student achievement and the incredible contribution of Community Education Counsellors (CECs) across Queensland. This year was particularly special, as it marked 50 years of CECs supporting students, families and school communities. We were incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone alongside our own much-loved Aunty Sandra.

A special congratulations to Amarina and Cahill, whose team achieved an outstanding second place at the Regional Finals earlier this year. Amarina and Cahill were also invited to present the Acknowledgement of Country at the ceremony, and they did so with confidence, respect and immense pride, representing our school beautifully.

We are so proud of all of our senior students who participated in ATSIAP this year across our three teams. Your commitment, courage and willingness to challenge yourselves is something to be celebrated.

To Amarina, Cahill and Aunty Sandra – thank you for representing Forest Lake State High School with such pride at this very special event. You continue to inspire us all.

Deadly!
